Massage Therapy

Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork

Many of us carry so much stress tension that we begin to feel as though it’s normal, until we experience the release and relaxation a massage brings. Research shows it reduces heart rate, lowers blood pressure, increases lymph and blood circulation, boosts the immune system and relaxes and relieves painfully tightened muscle tissue. Massage helps release the tension from stress, increases circulation and promotes healing in the body.

Why you should get regular massages…

Dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle? Research establishes that regular massage therapy improves range of motion, reduces recovery time, increases muscle tone, and increases flexibility. Since massage acts as an “auxiliary heart” by increases circulation, it thus facilitates the elimination of toxins and other metabolic wastes. An investment in regular massage therapy will ensure that all bodily systems function at an optimal level. For those of us dedicated to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, regular massage therapy will enhance feelings of well-being, reduce your risk of injury and improve your overall quality of life.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage manipulates the body’s soft tissues using many different corrective techniques. The muscles, fascia, ligaments and tendons are lengthened, relaxed and replenished with techniques such as kneading, cross-fiber friction, trigger point and deep tissue massage. Swedish massage directly influences circulation, muscle tone and flexibility, increases range of motion and elimination of metabolic wastes. Stress reduction and relaxation, muscle pain and injury relief are some of the benefits experienced with Swedish massage. Swedish massage sessions are done unclothed.

Deep Tissue Massage

A Deep tissue practitioner uses knowledge of muscle groups, their connective tissue, and muscle group actions to decrease restriction in places of tension and bring awareness to places where there may be weakness. By removing excess tension on the muscle, pain, soreness, and tightness go away. Taking the joints through a range of motion transmits the experience in the nervous system for long lasting change. Encourages balance and freedom of movement, eases pain, increases body awareness, improves efficiency and function.

Sports Massage

As training intensifies, the body may reach a point where it is not able to recover between sessions and performance may level off or even decline. Sports massage facilitates recovery from the fatigue experienced by hard training making the rest period between sessions more effective and productive. Along with all the same benefits of Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage helps prevent overuse injuries, increases nutrition to cells and removal of metabolic waste like lactic acid, lengthens and relaxes tight, contracted muscles enables to the body to achieve optimum performance, and increases range of motion and joint flexibility.
