From yoga to sports-specific conditioning, the Cornerstone offers a variety of programs and workshops for kids and teens age 7-18. We know that lots of kids need more exercise; and studies show that reduced play time and increased “screen time” are contributing to a generation of less-than-healthy kids and teens. We hope to give every child a rewarding experience, showing them that being active and healthy can also be fun. Kids & Teens workshops run seasonally, so be sure to check back for the most up-to-date information. Workshops are open to Junior Members from any Cornerstone location and non-members as well. Soccer Performance for Travel Team Players

 Are you looking to maximize your skills and endurance during your fall soccer season? In-season performance training is the best way to gain an edge on your fellow soccer opponents. Our training sessions are geared towards travel-athletes that are looking to take the next step in soccer by incorporating fitness, ball skills, speed, agility, quickness, and much more. Each soccer player in this 6 week program will have a competitive and engaging experience, and will take their soccer skills to the next level.  Head Coach Angela DeSumma is the former captain of the New Jersey Wildcats, a women’s semi-pro soccer team, and college standout at Marshall University.  She was ranked 15th in the nation by the NCAA for career assists, was named to the C-USA All-Freshman team and was 3rd Team All-Conference C-USA.  She is the head soccer performance coach at Cornerstone Sports Performance, and has been training soccer players for more than a decade.  This clinic is designed for travel athletes, and is not suitable for beginners.

Speed and Agility Training for High School and College Athletes

Specifically designed for athletes ages 14-21, this sports specific program will address the most critical component of any well-rounded athlete – footwork.  Developing recognition ability and then teaming that with explosive first-step speed is the key to strong athletic performance at any level.  This program addresses all areas of footwork – first-step speed, lateral movement, 40 yard times and muscle strength in the ankles, legs and shoulders critical to agility and stability.  Increase your cardio endurance and flexibility/ROM through drills and dynamic stretching.  Designed for athletes;  maximum 15 participants.

Fit-4-Fun – Youth Fitness Program

This program designed for kids ages 9-12 is geared toward keeping your kids active while having a great time with their peers!  Classes will be broken down into mini-games, obstacle courses and relay races.   We will focus on functional movements, core strength, balance, speed, agility and hand-eye coordination, as well as promoting teamwork, sportsmanship and self-esteem.  All classes will be held outdoors on our Cornerstone “playground”, and in the ZONE.   Kids should come prepared to get a little dirty and have a LOT of fun!  For all levels;  maximum 12 participants.

Class times:

4:00-5:00pm for ages 7-9

5:00-6:00pm for ages 10-12

Looking for something for your morning PreK/Kindergarten kid to do in the afternoon? Drop them off at CornerKids and let us keep them busy while you catch a workout, go shopping, or keep an appointment! Kids will be taught the importance of fitness and how to make it a part of their daily life. We run, do cardio/strength circuits and play fun fitness games and sports. A fun craft and healthy snack will be included each day. Participants should wear sneakers and bring a water bottle to class. Please register soon since enrollment is limited!
