This unique workshop combines TRX suspension training and SMRT-CORE techniques using the patented GRID foam roller. Suspension training bodyweight exercises develop strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability simultaneously. SMRT-CORE training is self-myofascial release and core strengthening efficiently combined in the same workout, using the GRID. This all-outdoor training program (yup, rain or shine!) will challenge you to truly get in shape this spring! You’ve seen the hill outside Cornerstone – get ready to get down and dirty on that hill. Up and down, back and forth, dodging obstacles, and doing major body-weight strength work – you will burn tons of calories, tighten that core and challenge every muscle group. This program is specifically designed for participants who are looking to lose 50 or more pounds. While you won’t lose this much in 6 weeks, you will get a great start on an exercise program designed to boost your metabolism and help you shed that weight once and for all. Workouts will combine cardio and strength training, and each participant will be required to do at least 1-2 more additional independent workouts per week. Accountability and camaraderie are two key components to a successful fitness program – get both in this workshop, plus gain confidence and satisfaction from a new commitment to a healthier lifestyle. Designed for seniors who have taken Senior Fitness 101 or are already personal training or exercising at an intermediate level, Senior F.I.T. will introduce participants to the benefits of functional circuit training. Working at a higher intensity, exercisers will focus on balance, core strength and overall conditioning. Each week, intervals of work and rest will change in order to maximize variety and deliver cardiovascular benefits. Learn how to use functional training equipment like the Bosu, medicine balls, TRX and agility ladders to dramatically improve your overall level of fitness. Join Jamie for this indoor/outdoor fitness program that takes boot-camp style training to the next level.
