Three major aspects of present day Shotokan Karate include self defense, the physical art (Kata), and sport karate (Sparring).Tai Chi: Master John Chan began his study of Tai Chi as a child in China. He continued his study oftraditional Yang style Tai Chi throughout his life, achieving Master status. After immigrating to America, he began sharing his love of this unique martial art with students in Bucks County.
His approach is unique in this area, preferring the traditional forms of practice over Westernized versions. Master Chan is a generous and expert teacher; he approaches instruction as an art, and his students participate in a committed and progressive practice that is beneficial both spiritually and physically.
