That was well over our original goal of 50 bikes, most of which are in phenomenal condition. Community Bikes will pick them up in a week or so to move them to their storage facility in NY. The fall season is always bittersweet: the warm weather and vacations are fading into memories, but the crisp, cool air and thought of the holiday season help keep us smiling. We have about 8 weeks to get back to the gym, get into our routine, and feel good about shedding those couple of “BBQ” pounds until… BAM! – the holidays are upon us.

A Stress-Free Holiday Season

posted on November 14th, 2012

The holiday season is a time of giving, family reunions, re-connecting with old friends, baking, shopping, and of course, celebrating; it’s no surprise, then, that “me” time usually doesn’t make the schedule. However, failing to take time for yourself can lead to a stressful holiday season for yourself and, ultimately, those around you. The American Psychological Association reports that up to 69% of people are stressed by the feeling of having a “lack of time”, 69% are stressed by perceiving a “lack of money”, and 51% feel stressed out over the “pressure to give or get gifts”.

Training for Peak Performance…

Performance in a Spinning® class is about combining training and trust to achieve your goals. Your students should feel as challenged physically as they are engaged emotionally and mentally in the class experience. Therefore, I have found a unique way to teach a Spinning class called “Train-to-Trust.” I differentiate between a “training mindset” and a “trusting mindset” within the class and I take the class through an imaginary criterium.
